LSI Systems coupon printer
Basic solution supporting the kitchen operation
The most popular application for the coupon printer is to use it for printing kitchen orders, therefore it is described in the Production section. However, its possible applications are practically unlimited. These are only some examples: kitchen orders, bar orders, preliminary information bills for the customers, contest coupons, admission tickets or invoices.
A device equipped with all the necessary functions
One printer – multiple terminals
The printer may handle the print orders from numerous POS terminals or computers. It is possible if the printer is connected to the computer network by means of a print server – an additional network device. The number of POS terminals or computers which can be supported by the printer connected in such a manner is unlimited.
However, the printer can also be connected directly tothe POS terminal or the computer. In this case, it is not recommended to make the same printer available for other POS terminals or computers.
Many printers – many terminals
There may be more printers available in the network. In such a case, it is possible to send the coupon printing orders from one or many POS terminals or computers to any printer. The management system installed in the outlet is responsible for transmitting the order in the appropriate directions. When you decide which dishes will be prepared in which stations, the order will be sent directly to this station. You can also print the copies of all or selected coupons on another printer.
To obtain the above effects, you should use the appropriate management software. These conditions are met, among others, by popular systems, POSitive Restaurant and Gastro.
When the coupon printer is not enough
If you manage a large restaurant, think about using the Kitchen Display System (KDS) for the handling of catering production needs. This will support the ordering much more effectively than the coupon printer. The system is described here ...
